Does an apple a day keep the dentist away?

Fort Lauderdale Cosmetic Dentist >
Dr Natalia Benda answers questions by video on various dental topics. So if you've ever wondered if an apple a day will keep the dentist away, here is your chance to find out.

OK maybe you won't get the answer to that question but you'll be able to hear in the dentists own words all about cosmetic dental questions.

On this site you'll learn about dental implants, root canal, x-ray safety, sedation dentistry, crowns and veneers.

Sedation Dentistry

I'm looking forward to meeting you soon. Of course you'll be sedated and won't remember a thing but you'll see the results later and that will make you smile!

By using sedation dentistry we are able to solve several problems:

  1. Fear of going to the dentist
  2. Save time, have several procedures done in one visit
  3. Have root canal work done while you sleep

Nobody should ever have to fear a trip to my office. I want to make you as comfortable as possible. You'll enjoy each visit with my all female staff. Women are nurturers, we can't help it we are more gentle by nature. ;)

Nitrous oxide, commonly known as "laughing gas", is used in our office and we also have a tiny easy to swallow pill that we use for sedation.

So many people come to my office and tell me horror stories which caused them to have these fears. Let's look at a video about the dreaded root canal and you'll see why in MY office root canal is nothing to fear.

In the video below we discus treatment for car accident and sporting accident victims. Accidents are often a good reason to get a lot of dental work done while you are sedated. If you have had a tooth knocked out you may wonder if you should keep it and bring in to have it implanted back in your mouth.

What about dental office visits to get your teeth cleaned? Is it appropriate to have sedation for a cleaning? Cleanings in my office are preformed by a dental hygienist who just happens to be a dentist from another country. You'll be getting the best cleaning possible by a highly trained individual. Even with that there is no reason to have a cleaning without sedation if that will make you more comfortable. People have asked me about flossing their teeth and suggested that with their brushing and flossing maybe they don't need a cleaning every six months. Periodontal (gum) diseases, including gingivitis and periodontitis can't be resolved by brushing. I address that question in the video below.
